The Body of Christ at Work
The Body of Christ at Work
One of the greatest joys I have in ministry is to see the church functioning as described in the New Testament. In 1 Corinthians 12:17-18 Paul writes describing the church: “If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.”
Last week I saw a tangible example of what is described in those verses as our team of 200 volunteers served together to put on Vacation Bible School for nearly 400 children. Our team was comprised of so many different individuals, each with unique gifts, talents and experiences; each and every team member was necessary to accomplish the mission laid before us. There we many hands, feet, eyes, ears all functioning well together to act as the body of Christ in order to serve the children to came onto our campus.
I’m so grateful for the way that God has arranged the members of The Body at Kindred according to His perfect will to accomplish the building up of His Church to magnify the name of Jesus Christ.
To those of you who served with us this year: “Thank you for using your gifts at VBS 2016.”
