Kindred Student Ministries is a place for junior and senior high students to come together and grow in their relationship with God and relationships with one another. We exist to serve alongside parents as they shepherd their students and lead them into biblical truths that impact every aspect of life. We know that students have a lot to think through and deal with, and we want to be here to point them towards Christ and give them strong Christian leaders to lean on. Here’s how we work to accomplish that:
TEACHING GOD'S WORD
Every Sunday morning we meet to study the Bible in depth, giving relevant application that’s specific to the life of a student. Whether we’re going verse by verse through a book, thinking through theological truths, or studying topics that impact students the most, expect a solid exposition of God’s Word.
During the School Year, we have a mid-week meeting called "Wednesday Night Break" on campus. At 6pm students can come and enjoy a meal together and at 7pm we start our time of worship, hanging out, prayer, and small groups that focus on applying Sunday’s teaching to the individual hearts of students. Small groups are arranged by age and gender and have dedicated leaders that lead each group in discussions that dig deeper into scripture and make biblical connections to the life of a believer.
During the summer, we meet as families at Huntington State Beach (Life Guard Tower 10) on Thursday evenings to enjoy God’s awesome Southern California creation together! There’s no specific start time but you’ll find most of our group down there around the fire pit in the early evening until the beach closes. Bring your own food, beach chairs, guitars, and some firewood to throw in the pit!
One way that we try to impact students is by putting an emphasis on discipleship. Small groups provide the foundation for biblical community and we also work to let each student take advantage of one-on-one discipleship with a leader. Our hope is to get into the heart of each student individually so we can be leading them personally. Sometimes it’s just grabbing an ice cream or coffee to hang, other times it's getting together to pray and to encourage one another in life’s struggles. Either way, we want to make personal connections as the body of Christ.
EVANGELIZING THE LOST
We want to “go into the world and preach the gospel” anytime we get the chance! Students are encouraged to share their relationship with Jesus with others, look for opportunities to preach the gospel, and get involved in service and missions locally and across the world. We also have Bible Clubs in some of the surrounding junior and senior highs and head out for evangelism with the team from Living Waters every Friday night.
KSM is a place where students can be serious about their faith and be serious about enjoying life! All throughout the year, we have events that bring our group together for a little excitement and lots of fun. Be sure to look at our events page to get all of the details.
We hope to see you here soon!
