Service In Progress

“The heavens shall praise Thy wonders, O Lord; Thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.” — Psalm 89:5

Think about this: Like most of you, at one point or another, you have noticed a courtesy sign posted on some of our outside doors during the worship service. From the outside looking in, you may see a sign that says "Service in Progress", or something to the likes. Probably just about every church has some kind of signage telling people, "hey folks, there's something going on, so try to not talk so loud." :)

It's ironic when you think about it this way, but we post signs asking people to not interupt a service in progress; yet when we gather on the inside of that building, we proceed to "interupt a service in progress". The "service in progress" I am referring to is the very host of angels incessantly praising the King of kings and the Lord of lords! His wonders and His faithfulness are being praised in our midst by the hosts of Heaven and even by His creation. So, our praises join their praises "already in progress." What a delightful interuption that is!

So, let's robustly go about the business of "interupting". Betcha you've never been told to do that, huh? :)

Yours & His,
Tom Grassi
