UPCOMING CLASSES
June 1 - August 3, 2025
8:30 am (1st service)
1 Peter: Hope and Holiness
Taught by Jason Erselius | Classroom: Upper Kindred Classroom 1
The book of 1 Peter was written to encourage believers who were living as exiles — people whose true home was Heaven but who were called to live faithfully in a difficult world. In this 10-week study, we will explore Peter’s call to stand firm in grace, live with hope, and pursue holiness in every area of life. Together, we will discover what it means to follow Jesus amid suffering, cultural pressure, and everyday challenges.
Spiritual Disciplines (June 1 – June 29)
Taught by Mark Bundy | Classroom: Lower Kindred Classroom 3
An introduction to various disciplines of grace given by God, such as Bible reading, prayer, and fasting, for the strengthening of Christians in their faith and practice.
Signs of Life – A Study of 1 John (June 1 – June 29)
Taught by Reid Scherer & Connor Scherer | Classroom: Lower Kindred Classroom 4
In this 5-week class, we will explore the powerful and practical letter of 1 John, where love, truth, and assurance come to life. Every disciple of Jesus Christ has been born again to a living hope through faith in Him, and that new life is marked by distinct characteristics such as obedience, authentic love, and discernment of the truth. Each week, we will focus on these themes and more as we consider what it looks like to live as disciples who grow in certainty, joy, and love for God and one another.
Redemption Explained (July 6 – August 3)
Taught by Gerry Edwards | Classroom: Lower Kindred Classroom 3
Many struggle to express the core principles of the Christian faith, even if they believe in Christ as their Savior. In this course, we will examine the foundational truths about Jesus Christ and His finished work – specifically, that He is the Son of God, that He died for our sins, and that He physically rose from the dead, as presented in the book of Mark. Additionally, we will explore how His finished work enables us to biblically explain who a Christian is and what it means to be one.
10:30 am (2nd service)
The Psalms: Prayer, Praise, and Prophecy
Taught by Victor Mejia | Classroom: Upper Kindred Classroom 2A
Charles Spurgeon said of the Psalms, “More and more is the conviction forced upon my heart that every man must traverse the territory of the Psalms himself if he would know what a goodly land they are. They flow with milk and honey, but not to strangers; they are only fertile to lovers of their hills and vales.”
This class will provide a comprehensive overview of the Psalms as we traverse its territory to discover its riches. We will study the nature of Hebrew poetry, the structure, theology, and categories of the Psalms, and how to use and apply them in prayer, counseling, and worship.
Biblical Soul Care Equipping
Taught by Joe Miller | Classroom: Lower Kindred Classroom 3
This 10-week soul care class will provide participants with opportunities to develop a more robust biblical theology and receive practical ministry training on various issues of sin and suffering faced by God’s people today. The purpose of this class is to foster greater ability and confidence in offering biblical soul care—not only in one’s personal walk with Christ but also in their roles within marriage, parenting, or ministry at Kindred.
Communication & Conflict Resolution (June 1 – June 29)
Taught by Mike Martin-Vegue | Classroom: Upper Kindred Classroom 1
This five-week class is an in-depth biblical study of godly Communication and Conflict Resolution. We will study what godly communication looks like, where conflicts come from, how to avoid and resolve conflicts. Whether the relationship is husband and wife, parent and child, co-workers, neighbors, or even church members, God’s Word is sufficient to address these areas. The goal of this class is to understand biblical truths for the purpose of Christ-likeness and the glory of God.
Christology (July 6 – August 3)
Taught by Charles Vermeulen | Classroom: Upper Kindred Classroom 1
If you want to know God truly, you must know Christ deeply—for apart from knowing Christ, there is no knowing God. In this 5-week Christology class, we’ll muse on, meditate upon, and marvel at the person, work, and glory of our Lord Jesus. Come discover how Christology not only anchors our faith but also fills our hearts with lasting joy in Him.
