Prayer

Maintenance prayer meetings are short, mechanical and totally focused on physical needs inside the church or on personal needs of the people present. But frontline prayer has three basic traits: a) a request for grace to confess sins and humble ourselves, b) a compassion and zeal for the flourishing of the church, and c) a yearning to know God, to see His face, to see His glory.
- Tim Keller, "Kingdomcentered Prayer," Redeemer Report, January 2006.

The quote above is a good summary of the kind of prayer life we desire all at Kindred to have. We need to have a daily abiding conversation with God and also frontline prayers that are deeper and more far reaching. We try to do this at least three ways…

1) Sending our bi-weekly prayer email and emergency prayer emails, that touches specific prayer needs of our church family. We have an email team that monitors our church prayer email address just for this purpose.

2) Being available to pray each Sunday morning before and after the service.

3) Meeting once a week to pray for the needs of the body.

There are numerous opportunities to serve in the prayer ministry. Pray about how God would have you fill a role in this ministry.

Where and When
Sunday mornings, we gather to pray for the needs of anyone at the service and the service itself. Sunday evenings, we meet at 6:30pm in the Multi Purpose Room to pray for the needs of the church and the needsof the body.
